LOpSoc is the Light Opera Society at UoS that StageSoc works with. They typically do 2 shows in the Annex each year, which are detailed later in this guide. This guide also contains other tips and information for working with LOpSoc.

Typically, LOpSoc have 2 show slots in the annex, one of which must be a G&S to be taken to the G&S festival in Buxton

• Spring Show - Held in the spring term
• Summer Show - Held in the week after exams - the get-in is usually the day after Showstoppers' 24, so often has low crew.

LOpSoc typically have bigger pit bands than showstoppers would (up to 12-13 people), which can be challenging, but they usually do not hire radio mics (they have once in living memory, for Cinderella in 2026). Some LOpSoc SDs take the opportunity of this to use the GL2400, an analogue desk, with the analogue effects rack.
